Lesson 9: Prepare for Self Forgiveness: Get ready to feel seriously better!

Get ready to feel seriously better!

The next lesson is the heart of this course in self forgiveness,
and all of the other lessons are here to help you succeed at releasing your stored up negative self issues, and to enjoy a new way of living. This action will inaugurate the powerful change in your daily life experience of you, that you have been calling for.

Take a moment to listen to a little verbal encouragement!(2:18)>>

Banish the energy of Shame

First: If you need to, banish the energy of shame. Kick it out of your space, so you can do this. (review last lesson for encouragement.)

Review your inventory of self issues. Pick ONE to work with, because the release occurs best if you are doing one thing only, in detail. (None of us can forgive our whole sorry life in one shot.)

And don’t worry! Because –

In this course, we are picking three issues to work through in three weeks. That’s a lot!

You might find you only want to do two, and pick this up again in a few weeks.

But you have plenty of time in your life to clear all of your issues, one by one.

This course will be here for you, and these practices are here for you, for a lifetime. So, identify the item on your list that you will forgive now because…

Your intuition has put the ‘yellow highlighter’ on this topic for today. OR

It’s a problem that is very present and ‘in your face’ too much every day. OR

It’s an easier issue to dispense with, and since this is a new skill, you want to have a good shot at succeeding at it and building your confidence. OR

It’s a big problem but it’s so old and tired that you are sick of it – you are so DONE with that story!

It doesn’t matter. Just follow your hunch and pick one issue to be done with now
Make a plan in your schedule today or tomorrow to do the self forgiveness exercise. You’ll need a private space, some tissues, and uninterrupted time.
The actual exercise takes about half an hour, and it’s nice to follow that up with another half an hour of quietude then, or at bedtime, for reflection on the experience.

Don’t do this just before a noisy or stressful social situation or before a busy work day – you’ll need to be gentle afterwards. So, if tomorrow is packed full, look at your calendar and book it in on another day this week.

Before you sit down to do the self forgiveness exercise, spend some time with this Inspired Intention:

“I will take the time to let go of this now (the issue that you feel bad about.) This is the last day I’m going to carry this burden in my thoughts. I deserve to feel good about myself, and I am open to complete healing and a sense of closure with this.”

 “How is Self-Forgiveness Accomplished?”

from Unconditional Forgiveness by Mary Hayes Grieco

How, exactly, is self forgiveness accomplished? It happens swiftly and simply when you are ready for it, when you are tired of beating yourself up about a mistake or a character flaw, and you know you need to feel better.

One day something inside you clicks into place and vehemently declares, I’m done with this! I have got to stop beating myself up about this, right now! You are ready. All you need to do is take some private time and some sacred space, away from the rest of your ordinary day, and make a date with your Higher Self — you will find It is already there waiting for you.

Sit right down and vulnerably ask to be forgiven completely for this specific issue. Lay out your suffering about the issue in detail, requesting help for the mastering of this difficult lesson in your life. Be brave and ask Spirit to completely remove this burden! Then continue along with the process, as it is outlined for you in the next lesson, in print or audio. Simple. On the right day, when you sincerely go there, you will instantly be given some great relief. It only takes about half an hour, and it will change your life.
