Introduction

Welcome to our course in Self Forgiveness

and Self Love

Hi, friend –

Thank you for signing up for this course in self love and self forgiveness – I’m so glad you’re here!

I imagine that life hasn’t been easy for you lately,
(which is why you are drawn to this course)
and so I offer it to you in the spirit of companionship and support for you at this juncture in your life.

I believe in life’s endless capacity for renewal, healing, and restoration, and I believe in you.

For many of us life hasn’t been easy, and believe me, I know what it’s like to feel like it won’t ever get any better. But I have found that such powerful change and blessing comes through the practice of forgiveness of self and others, and I’m always excited to share it.

This course focuses on giving you the liberating experience of self forgiveness.

The lessons here are simple, and you will repeat two of the spiritual practices a number of times.

Those re-iterations are important because they add up to the powerful effect of opening the channel to your soul.

You will feel more connected each time you do them.

I imagine this journey will inspire your interest in learning how to forgive others, too, before too long.

But for now, it’s all about you.

You deserve to live with a peaceful heart, a mind at rest, and the feeling of gently stepping forward as new doors open before you.

You deserve to love yourself, every day.

I know that the experience of self forgiveness will help you to breathe deeper and turn your face towards the sun and your feet onto the road towards the most elegant version of you.

Thanks for meeting the challenges that are uniquely yours. Thanks for being you.
Peace,
Mary Hayes Grieco

Here’s how to get the most out of this course

Use the book, Unconditional Forgiveness, as a reference guide.
The efficacy of this course will be enhanced if you also read relevant chapters in the book, Unconditional Forgiveness, by Mary Hayes Grieco.

You can also download and listen to the audiobook, The Peaceful Heart, both of which give valuable background and context, and in-depth explanations about the forgiveness processes.

Both resources are available at: www.forgivenesstraining.com/store and the book is also on Amazon.

Get a dedicated notebook or journal for your lesson reflections, and make copies of the worksheets so you can do the forgiveness exercises again and again, as needed. Some of the lessons have materials to print out, so have a folder to collect your assignments as you go along. (There is a “materials” tab at the top of some of the pages)

Let your intuition guide you in the flow of this work.
Ask your soul to lead this process for you. See if it’s best to tackle minor things first, or to dive in on something pressing today. See how you are led to forgive yourself first.
There’s no right or wrong way to do this, just your way.

I recommend that you do a lesson a day for a while, and with some of them you might want to stay and repeat them for a few days, to make sure the lesson penetrates you in a real way. When you get to the forgiveness healing exercises, take your time to prepare, and to do it, and to integrate the experience, spending a week on clearing each one of your important issues.

Don’t do forgiveness work during a hectic stressful time when you need to be at the top of your game at work. Healing takes energy, and it can leave you “spacey” and unfocused (but peaceful!) for a few days.  Do it before a day off instead, or on a long weekend.

Leave at least three days in between each significant forgiveness experience.
You’ll need time to integrate and get used to your new self each time. You can start doing little issues anytime.

Does one of your stories feel overwhelming?
Break it down into smaller facets and categories of hurt, and try doing one part of it at a time.

Get support! Get a best friend, a therapist, or a sponsor to sit with you in support of your process.

Still too hard?  Call us at The Midwest Institute for Forgiveness Training (612-874-6622), and we’ll advise you or arrange a telephone session for a fee.

Facing into your core challenge?
Come to Minneapolis for a Personal Retreat with Mary Hayes Grieco, and she’ll get you through it in a few days.
This work has also proved effective on the phone and by Zoom.

For big issues, plan on being more restful for a few days afterwards.
Get plenty of sleep and drink plenty of water. Treat yourself gently, like you’re “post-op” with a medical event. You are making deep and potent and long lasting changes.
